Meet Chef Netta
Hi, I’m Chef Netta!
A culinary educator, food justice advocate, nutritionist, and mama of two. My journey with food started long before I put on a chef’s coat. I grew up in a home where the door was always open, and the kitchen was always full. Food connected us. I cooked side-by-side with my husband, who was also a chef. Cooking was just something our family loved to do. But in 2014, I lost him to a heart condition. That moment changed my world and forced me to ask hard questions about health, healing, and the systems around us.
As I searched for answers, one truth became evident: food is medicine. So, I went back to school to pursue my master’s in nutrition and I kept digging… literally. With my kids by my side, I returned to the soil. Gardening became both a sanctuary and classroom. With over two decades of experience in the kitchen, today I work directly with North Carolina farmers to bring fresh, local, culturally grounded meals to schools, nonprofits, and family tables. I’ve had the honor of working with clients like PNC Bank, Coastal Bank, Habitat for Humanity, and the Wake County School System. No matter if I’m preparing meals, leading a workshop, or serving a client, I do it with intention because our food is more than just a plate. It’s a movement.
What Makes Us Different
As a farm-to-fork catering and meal preparation company, we celebrate the diversity and richness of North Carolina agriculture. As a Black woman-owned operation we prioritize equity, education and sustainability. Our mission is to connect our community to its roots by sourcing fresh, nutrient-packed ingredients straight from local farms.
Whether we’re catering corporate events, collaborating with dedicated farmers like those at Spring Forest Garden, or preparing wholesome meals for pickup and delivery, our team approaches every dish with intentionality, care, and that signature warm Southern hospitality. Every menu we create is rooted in our belief that food should be nourishing, comforting, and crafted with the highest-quality local ingredients. With every bite, we hope our guests feel the home, legacy, and love that inspire everything we cook.
Our work goes far beyond the kitchen. We’re deeply invested in our community, partnering with local schools and youth organizations to share the joy and importance of cooking, nutrition, and sustainable food practices. Through hands-on workshops and educational programs, we aim to inspire the next generation to connect with their food, care for their health, and build a stronger, more resilient future for themselves and their communities. We believe that fostering food education today creates empowered leaders who will nourish their communities tomorrow.
